Privacy Policy
Duner is a search engine for Outer Banks vacation rentals. This policy explains what we collect and why. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and we don't run advertising-tracking networks.
Who we are
Duner Beach (www.dunerbeach.com) is operated by Duner Travel Media LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("Duner," "we," "us"). You can reach us any time at hello@dunerbeach.com.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you give it to us. If you sign up on our "Keep me posted" form, we collect the email address you enter so we can tell you when Duner launches. That's the only personal information we ask you for.
- Basic technical data. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically logs standard request information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to serve the site and keep it secure. We don't use this to build a profile of you.
- Partner access. Our partner demo area is restricted to authorized rental-company partners, who sign in with a one-time code sent to their email. This is for business partners, not the general public.
We do not collect names, phone numbers, payment details, or account passwords from visitors, and we don't ask you to create an account to search.
How we use it
- To email you about Duner's launch and updates, if you asked us to — and only until you ask us to stop.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
We will never sell or rent your information, and we don't send unsolicited marketing to people who didn't ask for it.
Service providers we rely on
We use a few trusted third parties to run the site. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Formspree — delivers and stores submissions from our signup form.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site, routes our email, and provides security.
Each has its own privacy practices governing the data it handles on our behalf.
Links to booking sites & affiliate relationships
Duner is a search engine, not a booking site. When you choose a result, you leave Duner and book on the rental company's or an experience provider's own website. Some of those links are affiliate links — meaning we may earn a referral fee if you book — but this never changes the price you pay, and we don't add any fee of our own. Once you follow a link, you're on that third party's site, subject to their privacy policy and cookies, not ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you book with.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. Our hosting and security provider may set essential cookies needed to serve the site safely. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Booking or experience sites you click through to may set their own cookies once you arrive there.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from launch emails at any time — every email includes a way to opt out, or just email us.
- Access or delete the information we hold about you (for most people, that's just your email address) by writing to hello@dunerbeach.com. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those requests regardless of where you are.
Children
Duner is intended for adults planning travel and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Meaningful changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
