Planning a beach week shouldn't require a dozen browser tabs. But that's often what happens. One site for the house. Another for things to do. A few more for chairs, umbrellas, bikes or kayaks. And if you're comparing Duck against Corolla, or several possible weeks, the searching multiplies quickly.
Duner Beach is being built to make that easier. Today, Duner helps you compare things to do, find local beach-gear companies, and choose between the towns you're considering — along the whole coast from Virginia Beach, VA, to Ocracoke, NC. The vacation-rental search is the next piece: it will bring one search across participating local realty companies, towns and every week you could travel, with the options side by side.
Duner doesn't take the booking. When you find what you want, you continue to the company or marketplace shown in the result.
What Duner helps you do
Find things to do
Search tours, cruises, lessons and other experiences for the weeks you're considering, from Virginia Beach through Ocracoke. Duner compares listings from Viator and GetYourGuide, shows which marketplace you're viewing, and sends you there to book.
Find beach gear
Find local companies by town, equipment and service, from chairs and umbrellas to bikes, kayaks and baby gear. Duner doesn't take the reservation or show gear prices; you check current pricing and book with the company or marketplace shown.
Choose the right town
Duner's town guides tackle the decision that comes before the house: where should we stay? Compare beach access, walkability, atmosphere and the practical differences that can make one town a better fit than another.
Compare vacation homes — coming next
When it opens, you'll search several possible weeks together, compare homes from participating local realty companies, and book directly with the company managing the home.
Why I built this
Duner started with a problem I kept running into. I've spent evenings clicking through site after site, re-entering the same week and trying to keep a dozen prices straight. I wanted to know whether it was just me, so I asked 96 other beach-house renters. It wasn't — the complaint I kept hearing, almost word for word, was that no single site puts all the options in one place.
That started with houses. But planning the trip doesn't stop once you've chosen one. You still need to decide what to do, where to rent the gear, and sometimes which town you should be staying in to begin with. So Duner grew into the site I wanted to use for the whole beach week.

What we believe
Say what the number means
A price isn't useful if you don't know what it represents, so Duner labels what each price includes rather than mixing numbers that aren't comparable. Beach Gear shows no prices at all, because local rates change too often for Duner to keep them reliably current — every result sends you to the company or marketplace for its own pricing. The label rules live on How Duner works.
Be clear about the source
Duner identifies where its information comes from and, where useful, when it was last checked. Beach Gear listings are checked against the companies' own information, and Experiences identify the marketplace behind each listing. The company or marketplace handling the transaction is always the source of truth for current price, availability and terms.
Local where local matters
Vacation-home rentals and beach gear are deeply local. Duner is built to make the companies behind them easier to find, not to replace them. Experiences work differently: tours are often sold through marketplaces, so Duner compares those options and tells you exactly where you're going to book. Different parts of a beach trip work differently, and Duner doesn't force everything into the same model.
Independent, by design
Duner Beach is independently built and owned — not owned or controlled by a realty company, equipment-rental company, tour operator or booking marketplace.
Duner may earn a commission or referral fee from some bookings, and the Experiences booking links are affiliate links. Duner doesn't add a separate fee or markup to what the traveler pays, and compensation never buys inclusion, a higher ranking or editorial treatment.
Beach Gear companies do not pay to be listed or ranked, and our town guides carry no sponsored picks and no affiliate links.
No company gets to buy Duner's opinion.
Duner requires no account to search. A shared search link carries the search itself — the weeks, the filters and the stars — not your name, email address or an account profile. Duner does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
